IAAT Begins Training of Persons With Disability

The Council for Technical & Vocational Education & Training (COTVET) in collaboration with the British Council seeks to develop & implement a national apprenticeship policy as part of implementing the I-work project in Ghana.

I-work seeks to improve work opportunities and the objective of the project is to provide work opportunities for young people in Commonwealth countries.

The National Apprenticeship policy seeks to meet the skills need of the country and bridge the long standing gap between skilled labor demand & supply. The policy is being piloted in some selected institutions including IAAT as {Training Provider} and Nallem Clothing Factory as the employer.
NAP will will provide an integrated & standardized approach for undertaking apprenticeship at all level & sectors.

IAAT will be training persons with disabilities in Garment Making for 6 months leading to the award of the National Proficiency 1 Certificate.
In preparation towards the start of training from 13th Jan 2020 facilitators, administrators and supervisors are being trained on how to handle persons with disability.
